Introduction

The Academy of Veterinary Consultants Foundation (AVCF) is proud to work with sponsors in support of next generations of veterinary medicine The AVCF is organized and operated exclusively for charitable and educational purposes. It engages in a broad range of charitable, scientific, and educational activities to support and promote veterinary medicine, particularly bovine medicine, including, but not limited to conducting and funding research, funding scholarships, and supporting related activities.

Scholarships

AVC Foundation – Merck Foundation Scholarship:
The AVC Foundation has partnered with the Merck Foundation to provide two $10,000 scholarships for veterinary students who are planning to enter a career that emphasizes beef cattle production medicine. The scholarship is available for students who will be graduating in the Class of 2027 or 2028 from a U.S. or Canadian college of veterinary medicine accredited by the AVMA.

Requirements and selection criteria

Selection will be made following evaluation of completed applications. Please note applications must be complete for consideration to be given. It is the responsibility of the applicant to be certain information and materials are complete. 

The following must be performed in order to be considered:

  1. Students should submit the online application (open February 1st). You will receive an email confirmation.
  2. Personal references: Limit of two references – please provide one letter of reference from a faculty at your current university and another letter from a veterinarian engaged private practice. Your references should be able to provide first-hand knowledge of your abilities and experience. The applicant is responsible for making sure letters of reference are submitted on time.
