  • Purpose/Scope: This document describes the online privacy policy and terms of use of the Academy of Veterinary Consultants’ (AVC) Web site to advise and guide those who access and utilize this site.
  • Policy: AVC.memberclicks.net (“Site”) is the Web site of the Academy of Veterinary Consultants (AVC). AVC’s official Internet site is owned and operated by AVC and is provided as a service to AVC’s members and other visitors. Please feel free to browse this Site; however, your access to and use of this Site is subject to the following terms and conditions of use (“Terms and Conditions”) and all applicable laws. By accessing and browsing this Site, you accept these Terms and Conditions.
  • Information Collection: The AVC collects the following personal information: names, email addresses, phone numbers, veterinary school, graduation date, and practice type. AVC members are consenting that his/her information may be published in AVC’s online membership directory.
  • Credit Card Account Information: AVC does not keep on file or disclose credit card account information provided by its members and vendors. When members and vendors choose to pay using their credit cards, AVC submits the information needed to obtain payment to the appropriate clearinghouse.
  • Purpose of Data Collection: The AVC collects this information for membership sign-up, event registration, newsletter subscriptions, and other interactions with the website. 
  • Data Usage: The collected data may be used for communication, providing services, and improving website functionality. 
  • Cookies and Analytics: The AVC website may uses cookies and Google Analytics to improve functionality and to understand visitor usage. You can disable cookies or opt out of tracking through browser settings or Google’s opt-out tools.
  • Data Sharing: The AVC does not share this data with third parties other than AVC Gold and Silver Sponsors on a limited basis as outlined in the Policy and Procedures Manual.  Specifically, AVC may share member names and email addresses with Gold (5 instances per year) and Silver (1 instance per year) Sponsors solely for AVC-approved communications related to continuing education or industry updates.
  • Restrictions on Use of AVC’s Members-Only Information:  The Members’ Only Area shall be used for personal purposes only. The Terms and Conditions of this Site prohibit using any e-mail addresses obtained here for solicitation. The appearance of any person's address, e-mail address, fax number, or telephone number on this Site does not constitute permission for you to contact that person for commercial purposes or to send that person facsimile advertisements or commercial electronic mail messages. The information on this Site is the sole property of AVC and it may not, in whole or in part, be copied, disseminated, transferred or reproduced in any form whatsoever, including entering it into print or electronic databases, without written permission from AVC.
  • Data Protection and Security: The AVC has taken measures to safeguard user data from unauthorized access or breaches – including the use of encryption, secure servers, and access controls. However, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, while the AVC strives to protect your personal information, the AVC cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us, or that you consent to being stored on this Site, and you do so at your own risk.

  • User Rights: AVC members have the right to access, correct, or delete their data directly in the ‘My Profile’ section of the website or by contacting the AVC Office. 
  • Policy Updates: This section informs users that the privacy policy may change over time and how they will be notified of such changes through email and newsletter communications at least 30 days prior to the effective date.
